[File.Csv.Table:]

Insert the entire contents of an external CSV file into a table in the report

Purpose

You:

Must put the CSV file along with your report templates in the same input folder that you specify when creating a schedule.
Can use an asterisk in the macro as a wildcard at the end of the filename.

Using asterisks in Filenames

If more than one matching file is found, these rules apply:

If there are 2 filenames, TextFileC and TextFileZ, the alphanumerically LAST filename is used.
Where filenames contain dates (e.g recentdate20140201 and recentdate20150423), the filename which contains the most recent date is used, even if the other file was modified more recently.
If you had TextFileZ20150323 and TextFileC20150701, the alphanumerically last filename is used and takes precedence over filenames containing dates and both of these take precedence over most recently modified files.

Compatibility

The macro can be used in the highlighted input document types only. A greyed-out icon indicates not supported.

Usage

It is critical that there are no spaces in the macro string from the start of its definition to the end of the filename. For example:

[File.Csv.Table: file=myfile.csv] is OK
[File.Csv.Table: file=myfile.csv, columns = col1; col2; col3] is OK
[File.Csv.Table: file = myfile.csv ] may cause unpredictable results and incorrect data/formatting in the output document
