NCalc101 - Output and Results

Output and Results show you the answers to your calculations and the current state of your variables and expressions. Understanding the output helps you verify your work and troubleshoot issues.

Viewing Results

  1. After entering an expression, click Evaluate or press Enter.
  2. The result will appear below the input box or in the results panel.
  3. If your expression uses variables, their current values will also be displayed.

Output Details

  • Result: The calculated value of your expression.
  • Variables: A list of all defined variables and their current values.
  • Errors: If there is a problem with your expression, an error message will be shown to help you fix it.

Examples

  • Input: 2 + 3 * 4 → Output: 14
  • Input: x = 5 → Output: x = 5
  • Input: x * 2 → Output: 10
  • Input: sqrt(-1) → Output: Error: Invalid input for sqrt

Tips

  • Check the output panel for variable values and error messages.
  • Use clear and descriptive variable names to make results easier to understand.
  • If you get an error, review your expression for typos or unsupported operations.
