AlertMagic - Integrations
An Integration connects one Alert Management System to one Issue Management System - a 1:1 mapping. It is the unit everything else hangs off: alerts arrive addressed to an Integration, are processed using that Integration's active configuration version, and result in incidents in that Integration's IMS.
The Integrations page
The page lists your Integrations and lets you create, edit, and delete them. Each record holds:
- Name and Description.
- Active Version - the configuration version currently live for this Integration. Versions are created and activated in Alert Studio.
- Integration Username and credential - the identity the alert source presents when delivering notifications to this Integration's endpoint.
- Nondescript Integration Identifier - a neutral identifier used in processing logs instead of the customer or integration name, so logs stay non-identifying.
- Deployment Target - which AlertMagic engine instance processes this Integration.
- Metric dimension names - up to three friendly names for the additional metric dimensions the configuration can populate, which then appear on the Metrics page.
- Created and last modified timestamps.
The table can be searched, filtered, sorted, and downloaded. If there is a column or some data you need that is not shown, please contact us.
Authentication secrets
The page can generate or regenerate an Integration's Authentication Secret - the credential the alert source uses when delivering notifications. After regenerating, update the webhook or delivery configuration in your Alert Management System with the new value; the old secret stops working.
Integration Variables
An Integration Variable is an environment-specific value substituted into the configuration using the {{variable_name}} format. Variables let the same configuration serve different environments: the expressions reference the variable, and each Integration supplies its own value. They can be used in incident spec and problem spec fields including the alert signature, queries, conditions, mapping expressions, action expressions, and comment subjects and bodies.
