AlertMagic - Statistics
Introduction
AlertMagic stores statistics about Alert Notifications, Created and Updated Incidents and Problems and any errors that it experiences when processing. These are stored in Magic Suite, and are accessible via the AlertMagic UI and the MagicSuite API.
The Metrics Page
Overview
To view these statistics, click on "Metrics" in the AlertMagic UI:
Controls
Overview
At the top of the page, there are a number of controls. These can be used to refine what statistics are shown and over what time range.
Deployments
Select "All Deployments" or one specific Deployment. Most Tenants will have a single Deployment, so you will not normally need to change this option.
Integration
Select "All Integrations" or one specific Integration. Most Tenants will have a single Integration, so you will not normally need to change this option.
Integration Versions
By default, statistics for all Integration Versions are shown. However, to isolate statistics relating to a specific Integration Version, select it from the dropdown. This is useful when determining which version of an Integration resulted in a change in the statistics.
Tine range
By default, the last 24 hours are shown, with a 1-hour resolution. You can change the time range to view different time ranges here.
Graphs
There are three columns, each with two graphs:
- Alert Management System
- Input Events
- This shows the number of incoming Alert Notifications from the Alert Management System
- Requests that fail authentication are NOT shown here
- Malformed and well-formed requests are shown separately
- API Calls
- When processing Alert Notifications, AlertMagic may make calls to the Alert Management System, for example to acknowledge the Alert and update the Alert's Notes field with the relevant Issue Management System's Incident number.
- Such API calls are shown here, including suitable coloring for successful and unsuccessful calls.
- Ratios
- Output:Input
- This shows ratios between incoming Alert Notifications and Created/Updated Incidents and Problems.
- Errors
- This shows the number and nature of errors when processing Alert Notifications.
- Incident Management System
- Output Events
- This shows the number of incoming Incident/Problem Creates and Updates into the Incident Management System
- API Calls
- When processing Alert Notifications, AlertMagic will normally make calls to the Incident Management System, for example to determine whether there is an existing Incident matching the Problem Signature.
- Such API calls are shown here, including suitable coloring for successful and unsuccessful calls.
