Meraki DataMagic - Overview
Why Use DataMagic?
Use DataMagic to manage, monitor and maintain the data in your many Cisco Meraki networks. With a user-friendly interface and a dedicated, historical datamart, the benefits are:
- Centralized Data and Simplified Reporting: DataMagic gives a long-term, comprehensive view across multiple organizations. You can create custom reports, filter data, and visualize network trends over time, invaluable for capacity planning, troubleshooting, and auditing.
- Advanced Data Analysis and Troubleshooting: With direct, read-only access to a PostgreSQL database, design and execute your own SQL queries to analyze historical data, correlate network events, and troubleshoot issues. For example, identify a DHCP conflict and see exactly when a configuration change was made that may have caused it.
- Enhanced Visibility and Compliance: See a detailed timeline of configuration changes, crucial for auditing and compliance, and a full historical record of all network events, wireless connection failures, and other key metrics. How Does DataMagic Work?
Basic architecture
Meraki DataMagic continuously collects vast amounts of Meraki data via both the Meraki API and SNMP, in parallel and for all your Meraki Organizations.
- Operational and historic data is collected (read-only) from the Meraki API for all your organizations and stored in a secure SQL database
- You can use the application for common search requests and analysis
- Coming soon: You will be able to execute complex SQL queries against the database
LogicMonitor integration
It's easy to integrate Meraki DataMagic with your LogicMonitor deployment, and you can do so at no additional cost. Simply deploy:
- A new LogicMonitor collector within our datacenter (we will simply need some credentials)
- Our suite of LogicModules within your LogicMonitor instance
Full integration
You can fully-integrate Meraki DataMagic with other systems, including customer reporting with ReportMagic, CMDB Sync with ConnectMagic and Alert Integration with AlertMagic.
