Connecting to Cisco

To set up Magic Suite apps to connect to your Cisco system:

In the Cisco API Console

  1. Access the Cisco API console at https://apiconsole.cisco.com/apps/myapps
  2. Create an App called "ReportMagic".
  3. Give it access to:
    • Hello API: This is used to validate credentials
    • EOX V5 API: This is used to obtain EoX information
    • Serial Number to Information API Version 2: This is used to obtain serial number information
    • Optionally, Cisco PSIRT openVuln API: This is used to obtain PSIRT scores for customers with Cisco SMART Collectors
  4. Obtain the "Key" (also known as the "Client ID") and Client Secret, for use below.

In ReportMagic

  1. From the Admin menu, click Connections.
  2. Click the Create button.
  3. From the Type drop-down, choose a Connection type of Cisco.
  4. Enter a name - we recommend that you use "Default" for the name of the first connection of each type, and optionally, a description.
  5. Enter anything in the URL, as this field is disregarded.
  6. in the User name field, enter the Client ID.
  7. In the Password field, enter the Client Secret.
  8. Click Save.

Creating a ReportMagic Cisco DNA Center Connection

To set up ReportMagic to connect to your Cisco DNA Center:

  1. From the Admin menu, click Connections.
  2. Click the Create button.
  3. From the Type drop-down, choose a Connection type of Cisco DNA Center.
  4. In the URL field, enter your DNA Center URL.
  5. in the User name field, enter your username.
  6. In the Password field, enter your password.
  7. Click Save.

Note: Passwords are stored encrypted in our database, and cannot be accessed by any other users of the system.
