To set up Magic Suite apps to connect to your Cherwell system:

In Cherwell, as a Cherwell CSM Administrator, create your Client ID. To do this:

1. From the Main window, select Security
2. Click Edit REST API client settings.
3. Click the Plus icon.

In ReportMagic:

1. From the Admin menu, click Connections
2. Click the Create button
3. Enter a name - we recommend that you use "Default" for the name of the first connection of each type, and optionally, a description.
4. From the Type drop-down list, choose a Connection type of Cherwell then:
• In the URL field, enter the URL of your system.
• In the User name field, enter the user name.
• In the Password field, enter the password.
5. In the Configuration box, type your ClientId as shown below:
   
6. Optionally, add "TimeoutSeconds" to the Configuration, to choose a custom request timeout.
   The default is 100 seconds unless set otherwise for example, "TimeoutSeconds" : 500
7. Optionally, add "MaxAttempts" to the Configuration, to choose the maximum number of attempts when a failure occurs. The default is 5.
8. Click Save.

Note: Passwords are stored encrypted in our database, and cannot be accessed by any other users of the system.
