Connecting to AutoTask

To set up Magic Suite apps to connect to your AutoTask system:

  1. From the Admin menu, click Connections.
  2. Click the Create button.
  3. From the Type drop-down, select a Connection type of AutoTask.
  4. Enter a name - we recommend that you use "Default" for the name of the first connection of each type, and optionally, a description.
  5. Enter anything in the URL, as this field is disregarded.
  6. In the User name field, enter the API user's username. This should be an AutoTask username created specifically for the integration.
  7. In the Password field, enter the API user's password.
  8. Note down the:
    • API user's Integration Code - find this in AutoTask in the User (Resource) configuration page, on the right side of the Security tab
    • ServerId (the number in your AutoTask URL)
  9. Use the above information in the configuration section in the form:
    { "IntegrationCode": "the integration code", "ServerId": the number in your Autotask URL }
  10. Click Save.
