Audit Logs

Magic Suite apps generally record audit logs for most actions performed by the system, as well as changes made by users.

As an example, when a user logs in, the "Person" entry in the database gets updated to update the LastLoginDateTimeUtc. Likewise, when using ReportMagic and running a report, items such as Schedules and Batch Jobs get updated during report processing. Any changes to such entities are also logged, with a "Before" and "After" status of each object.

The Audit Logs feature is available to Tenant Admins, where they can see all logs relating to their Tenant.

The Audit Logs page contains a table which shows logs related to:

  • The ID of the log (only for Super Admins)
  • What action was taken e.g. Create, Update, Delete
  • The type of Object (e.g. Person, API Token, Connection)
  • The Before and After JSON (which is not shown by default but can be toggled on using the Columns dropdown)
  • The affected columns in the database
  • The user who did the change / update / delete
  • The time the change occurred, in UTC (Universal Coordinated Time)

Audit Logs indicate all changes / updates / deletes in Magic Suite, including but not limited to, the following:

  • AlertMagic payloads, AMS / IMS systems, integrations and more
  • API tokens
  • Cached Values
  • Certifications
  • Connections
  • LogicMonitor DataMagic Syncs and Sync Executions
  • Feedback raised
  • File system changes, e.g. creating / deleting files and folders
  • Notifications
  • Roles / RBAC
  • Schedules, and their related Batch Jobs and Report Jobs
  • Users
  • ...and more

Passwords, API Keys, password vectors, and any other sensitive fields are redacted in the Audit Logs table and database.

Audit Logs are also available to Super Admins, where they can see all logs for each Tenant.

Panoramic Data keeps Audit Logs for at least 365 days.
